Incentives for Kids, Teens & Adults
Complete any combination of 8 activities or reading/listening hours to be eligible for grand prize drawings.
Tickets are given for each activity and book/chapter/reading or listening hour.
Pick up a Summer Reading Program record keeper at Urbana Public Library to track your progress. Color a section of the StickTogether wall mural each time you complete an activity or reading/listening time (sections are subdivided into 1 picture book for young children/1 chapter for kids & teens/30-minute increments for adults). Bring your completed record to the circulation desk to receive ticket(s)
Kids:
1. Attend a library program/complete a craft activity.
2. Listen to an audiobook or read-along book.
3. Read a book and watch the movie it’s based on.
4. Recommend a book to a library staff member.
5. Visit a park you've never been to.
6. Check out a book from display.
7. Write or learn a poem, story or song.
8. Read to someone (even a stuffed animal).
9. Draw a picture of your favorite scene or character in a book.
10. Read outside.
Teens & Adults:
1. Attend a library program/complete a take & make activity.
2. Listen to an audiobook.
3. Read a book and watch the movie it’s based on.
4. Recommend a book to a library staff member.
5. Read a non-fiction book.
6. Post on social media about a book you read and tag @urbanapubliclibrary and/or the author.
7. Join the Library Book Club if you haven't already.
8. Read a book published in the month of your birthday (any year).
9. Donate non-perishable food or personal item(s) for St. Mary's food pantry.
10. Request a custom reading list of your favorite genre from library staff.
